Those guys do hate us, but with a reason. If you track the statements of Osama and the other Muslim activists you will find that the reason for the attacks is the US sponsored Israeli treatment of Muslims in the Middle East. That includes the Palestinian Muslims, who are attacked with weapons made and paid for in America, fenced out by an American financed fence. The treatment of Palestinians, by the way, is tantamount to genocide. See "Native American" and "US Cavalry" for a better description.

And then, to compound matters, the US inserted troops into Saudi Arabia, another affront, and it's gone on and on. In fact, if one is looking for cause and effect it's hard to do, but the overthrow of the first Muslim democracy in Iran is a good start. The US installed the Shah, helped create the SAVACK and trained them in torture methods. A long time ago, and the grievances are longstanding.

Here's a statement by OBL. I read an article the other day by a State Department counter-terrorism official which said OBL has always followed through with his statements.
