but how it comes across is that those you have to negotiate with are unprincipled. That is no way to go into a negotiation or discussion and inspire cooperation and compromise. The problem is not that your opponents have no principles, it's that to you, only yours matter. This arrogance is why the Right always inspires such resistance and contempt.
