Another thought: Given the $1.8 trillion new debt, how much will be left for NASA?
Or anything else?
That $1.8 trillion is for Freddie and Fannie plus the hedge funds. That's on top of the Iraq and Afghanistan debts and the obligation to thousands of wounded vets. And McCain even advocates no new taxes, claiming eliminating earmarks can pay for everything.
How much will be left for the space program, for instance, or any other domestic programs, including infrastructure repair, etc.?
I don't think much. My guess is the average person would be better off to let the stock market find it's realistic level and permit those who took highly leveraged risks to enjoy the fruits of capitalism.
And keep the $800 billion.
