For once I actually have a candidate I can get behind that seems to speak to me as an adult. The guy you're backing has been caught in so many untruths and distortions they've become uncountable.

If anything I hope Obama is masking some of his true feelings in regards to use of our military in Afghanistan and Pakistan. I'm pretty much a believer that we should be disengaged from providing military support to any other country unless there's a direct and obvious threat to our own borders. Terrorism doesn't fall into the military category for me. It's like using a sledgehammer to put a nail into a wall for hanging a picture.

I see nothing but blowback keeping ourselves engaged in an area where our culture is so out of synch from the thousands of years of history that have formed that area. We simply don't fit and our style of doing things will never be embraced by force and power. It can only come through societal evolution on its own. Any fire we put out only spreads embers elsewhere.

I have no problem with a strong defense on our own borders and top notch intelligence services throughout the world but we have to stop trying to bring democracy to people that will never embrace it. It hasn't worked.
