Jupiter 232

The problem with Saturn V was that it really had not much purpose other than sending humans to the Moon and once a short lived space station.
Ares 5 would also be limited to the Moon and Mars....
But Jupiter 232, while not being suited for a manned Mars flight, could be used to send humans back to the Moon and launch all kinds of other satellites (piggy back or in stack or one or two large ones).

Jupiter 232 could be used to send an unmanned sample return to Mars.

While, yes, Jupiter would mean the Moon as its ultimate goal, it would be suitable for other less ambitious but more short term, practical purposes.
