Space/Science » in reply to Tinfoil and Duct tape

Tis true.

I wouldn't build anything with duct tape and baling wire, but they are priceless in an emergency and for a quick fix.

Getting back to spaceflight, I have nothing against capsules. We need a good capsule design for sending both men and supplies into orbit. I'm just saying that we also need a large workhorse as well. IMO, the DIRECT design gives us the ability to have both. Use a Jupiter 120 for launching capsules, and use a Jupiter 130 for launching an advanced 2nd generation BURAN style orbiter for missions requiring heavy duty work. As I've stated many times before, with the right launch system, the heavens will open up to us. DIRECT is a big step in the right direction towards having such a launch system. I hope it gets the green light.
