There's always been an "Us" and a "Them". At first it was just whether or not you were a slave or slave owner that mattered. Then it was determined genetically, by whether or not your parents were nobility or not. Then came the came the revolutions of the 17th and 18th century in England, America and France, which divided society into those who owned property and those who didn't. The nineteenth and twentieth century split us up again, into those who controlled capital and those who relied on them for subsistence labor just to survive. In each case, the doomed leadership class was convinced of its moral superiority, the righteousness of its cause, and the inevitability of its claim to power.
Today we are seeing the unravelling of the the latest self-appointed autocracy, the professional-managerial-executive class, due primarily to its own greed and self-indulgence. No longer will the world be divided into noble, hard-working, innovative, productive, courageous entrepreneurs, and low-life, Springer-watching, trailer-trash employees and welfare queens and their elitist, envious, leaders in the intellectual and artistic classes.
Wise up, Mr Natural, those who do not adapt will not survive. And remember, just like in biology, there is no end product or goal to evolution and it is not under intelligent control or design; it's just a stochastic process driven by random forces. If you really want to know who is bringing it all down (or who is allowing it to collapse), you have to look no further than the departing leadership. They took the credit when things were looking up, now they must accept responsibility for things going south.
