Every state but 3 is in financial trouble right now. Not just California and its Republican governor.
We're not building anything in this country because foreigners can do it cheaper. The fact that this leaves most Americans too broke to buy anything seems to have escaped somebody.
We are finding services, products and services for the affluent, and financial maneuvering more profitable than actually making stuff than can give people jobs making them, and that will help the economy by being used. Ford trucks give Ford workers jobs, and are used to haul stuff for American industry. Insurance and real estate and securities just moves paper currency from one pocket to another.
Every single long range economic problem we have in this economy can be traced to a short-term profitable decision made by some corporate CEO with the support their political friends in congress gave them to help make it happen. With the exception of Clinton, we have had a conservative government in Washington since the Carter administration and business has been able to do pretty much whatever it wants. And Clinton wasn't in long enough to reverse the trend.
You guys are simply too greedy to run a country.

- I do not understand something about *this* recession...[big surprise]
- There was well over 200 billion worth of tax cuts in that stimulus package
- Once the markers were called...
- (targeted) government spending produces more jobs than tax cuts.

- Money
- Because this time, the tax cut came first.
