Democrats hated Bush primarily because he was elected instead of Gore. It drove them nuts, and many of them are still nuts. Bush was getting crap from Democrats and liberals long before 9/11, never mind Iraq. Remember the "Not My President" websites that sprang up in the spring of 2001?
If a Republican had pulled a gag like this we'd be hearing about it for years, like "potatoe," or grocery scanners, or mispronounced words. Have you read the list of gifts that were given to Obama by the British? Hint: They weren't picked up at WalMart.
As I mentioned below, this flub was funny. His other screwups haven't been. Over the next few years Barack Obama is going to be teaching us the difference between "educated" and "smart."
