I don't know of anyone who is seriously suggesting we abandon technology. The filmmakers we've been talking about in this thread are all heavily dependant upon technology. I personally make my living by using technology that didn't exist even just a few years ago, and have no desire to transition to farming. (No offense intended toward farmers.)
The issue, as I see it, is not that we live with technology, but rather that we live in technology. It's become our environment. Is that a requirement of being a technological civilization, or is it something we've allowed to happen mainly because we've never bothered to understand and question it?
Do we have to live IN technology to live WITH technology?
