living in vs with

I'm afraid I don't understand. Tell me what you would like for it to be and I can tell you if and when I think it would be possible and whether I agree it would be a good thing.

I live in a fertile valley where my neighbor is as far aways as I want him to be, yet I can be surrounded by friends at will. The temperature is always optimal and it always rains just the right amount at a time that doesn't affect anything I want to do. Is that living in or with technology? I'm not sure I know the difference.

I live in a habitat that is safe, roomy, clean, healthy and climate controlled. There are parks and nature preserves nearby where I can look at a blue sky and smell fresh air. Surely this is living in technology, but is it bad or good?

If I demolish an ugly building and put up a more pleasing building, am I part of the solution or part of the problem?

The perfect valley is what we are aiming for but there are not enough valleys to go around. It is a process of getting better that is what it is.

I just don't know what is expected in the face of reality. We are 6 billion and growing. With any luck, good choices and technology we can live better with twice that many, or with bad luck and bad choices we can live a helluva lot worse with half that many.

The point is, it is all about us and making it better for us. Without us it is a moot point.
