Whether you are a Christian of Catholic or Protestant, Methodist, etc., or even Jewish, or even and Arab... there's something to be said about having a free will.
I'm sorry, but I think that this is haunting and beautiful:
2 Tim.1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
- Not according to our works, but who we are as individuals. That's in our <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Constitution"Bill of Rights and our Constitution. That kind of thinking is all over the place there and continues to this day.
Besides all the twists and turns and downfalls our society has had, that/those inspired words have been the basis of our society and that's why we have survived for so long.
