2 Tim.1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
That just means that Christ's coming was planned before God created the world. If God is all-knowing, then God would know how people were going to be and would be aware of the future need before it happened. Therefore, God gave us grace based on the future coming of Christ before we were even created.
It makes perfect sense to me but I can see why the concept would be difficult to those unfamiliar with some of the deeper aspects of spirituality. Note that I did not say "religion." I detest religion. A spiritual person is non-violent, non-judgmental and has no agenda other than enhancing his/her own knowledge of the spiritual nature of all things.
