The destruction of private alternatives is an important part of the overall takeover of health care by the government. You don't see a lot of talk about this in front of the general public, but you can hear it if you get the politicians in front of a sympathetic group.
The long-term goal, of course, is the destruction of private alternatives in almost everything. Health care is just the one that delivers the most power to the State in one fell swoop.
I'm happy you want to destroy a health care system that's working very well for me and almost 80 percent of Americans in order to force us into a politically-controlled monopolized one-size-fits-all system. I have to get dragged along because others have the delusion that a centralized government authority can provide an essential service to 300 million people more efficiently and at less cost than hundreds of private sector providers.
Wake up. If this wasn't about power instead of health care, they'd be working on methods to help those without insurance or those who have fallen through the cracks, instead of being intent on obliterating the entire system and shoving us all into socialized medicine.
