I asked my mother after she passed what it is like on the other side and she replied, "It is a different way of perceiving." (It's a long story you wouldn't believe anyway so I won't go into it.) You can poo-poo the afterlife all you want based on what other people have said or not said, what you believe, etc.; however, no one on this side knows. Period. End of story. If there is an afterlife, you may or may not like it. If there isn't, it's moot. Rather than worrying over what's coming, a better focus is what's going on here. If you live your life well and there is an afterlife, you'll be rewarded. If you live your life well and there isn't an afterlife, you are being rewarded as you live it. Either way you look at it, you can't lose. If you live your life not so well, you'll get your just reward for that, too. Here or there.
