Another bright star

in the short, but noble history of Canadian rock and roll. I always liked those guys, and they were more than just a one-hit-wonder. The did a tune a tune called (I think) "Werewolf", at least, it was about a werewolf, that became a popular local hit in S Florida back in the early 70s. They also did if I'm not mistaken, something called "Swamp Hattie", about a country witch that takes her spooky revenge on a town that abuses her. Great stuff, and of course "Signs".

Damn, there were so many really good bands back then, bands that never went anywhere. Anybody remember the Left Banque? Baroque Rock.
I was a also a fan of the Troggs, Beau Brummels, and back then, Tom Jones was developing into a fine blues singer (his version of Black Betty, Wham-a-lam is still the definitive one). But he had to go the Vegas geriatric route to earn a living. And of course, Long John Baldry did just the opposite, moving from show tunes into the blues. "Don't lay no boojie woojie on the king of rock and roll".

If you've never heard Baldry's "Conditional Discharge" you owe it to yourself to do so.
Do it now. This very minute. That's an order.
