Smoked a few joints 30 years ago but didn't really know why people thought it was so great. I didn't like the feeling I got with it. Although my best friend said it made me soft and feminine. Sigh. I was always too self-confident and self-reliant for the men I came into contact with. I intimidated them. Sheesh. So I guess she thought I needed softening up.

I gotta tell you about my one big high on grass, though. Snicker. My friend was driving because I was higher than a kite. She left me in the car to go into the grocery store and ordered me NOT TO GET OUT OF THE CAR! (because I was so stonied)

So I'm being very very good and stay in the car but I get down in the well in front of the passenger seat so she can't see me when she comes out of the store. There was an old farmer in a pickup truck watching (he could see me down there, she couldn't) as she ran up and down the sidewalk and the parking lot calling my name trying to find me. Finally she comes back to the car and opens the door and sees me. I won't repeat what she called me. I said to her, "You told me not to get out of the car and I didn't. You didn't say I had to stay sitting in the seat." I think she was considering hitting me. The old farmer was sitting there cracking up.

So we head on out to the drive in and she has another joint to soothe her nerves. Pretty soon I'm sitting there and I say, "Where are we?" She says, "At the drive in?" I say, "Oh. Aren't we supposed to be watching a movie?" She says, "There's a movie?" I'm alive so we did make it home.
