Maybe you've got a point. Its sort of like the flat-earthers, who can be so clever and articulate with their proofs and arguments about why the earth is not round at all.
I can see the value of this. Even those who are absolutely correct can sometimes be a bit too self-righteous in their opinions. It can be helpful to bring them down a peg or two.
When I was in school, there used to be a restroom where the stalls never had their graffiti removed. It was like a tradition, an improvised free speech board. One day, I wrote neatly in one of the few remaining empty spots:
"Jimi Hendrix was a credit to his race."
The responses that showed up over the next few days taught me that sometimes even the nicest people can take themselves just a bit too seriously.
