Consistency is not the same hobgoblin for me as it is for you. I respect people who can change their position after reexamining the facts, or after new facts come to light. And really, what does an anti-media tirade several years ago have to do with his present call for a truth commission? Just more flak?
The essential fact you can't obscure is that Sanchez is confident enough in the outcome to call for a truth commission. He's telegraphing his testimony: Culpability runs sideways before snaking up into the White House. Or, maybe he's implicated, and his conscience is prodding him to accept responsibility and take what's coming to him. Either way, it's worthy of respect.
