Hi Lissa,
I'm afraid having a President that makes some people feel good isn't enough. The facts are he has adopted the Bush Administrations stances on the war on terror. He has increased our presence in Afghanistan and is NOT about to leave anytime soon. No one wants the Guantanamo inmates - not the nations the prisoners hail from and not any US state wants to house these terrorists in their local prisons.
Obama is a con-man. A professional politician from Chicago who told the suckers what they wanted to here. He spoke of transparency and now is even alienating the leftists who put him into office. Obama is Bush-lite.
There is no one to block him, Lissa. He has a Democratic House and Senate to rail anything through. The healthcare proposal? Pulling out of Iraq & Afghanistan? He could do this in a heartbeat. He knows Bush was doing the right thing. He knows he was lying through his teeth, as he denounced Bush policies, just to get into office on the backs of the huge numbers of the clueless in our country.
Expect more of the same for the next 3-1/2 years. Expect more scandals, that even the leftist media will grudgingly have to cover. Expect more continuation of Bush & Cheney's policies. The only difference is Obama will loot the rich, the middle class and pretend he is a servant of the poor, uneducated & educated liberals who put him in office.
Feel goodism doesn't feed mouths or pay the mortgage.
