Tom's off his groove in my view. He's ranting uncontrollably like much of the left including you during the Bush years. Claiming Tyrants result from democratic input on distribution of wealth sounds like foaming at the mouth to me as does, if you are for any regulation you're socialist.
Note to Tom: Socialism in theory is where government controls all production and distributes it according to need not merit. In practice it is where those in power distribute it to cronies. This distortion is much like crony capitalism where rewards are distributed to cronies and those who already have power rather than on merit as dictated by theoretical capitalism - ie CEO's who get paid lavishly for being in charge because their friends voted them in charge rather than any significant accomplishments.
