You see the problems of concentrating power in governemnt hands, but none with consolidating it in fewer and fewer private hands.
You see problems with government corruption, but no problems with private corruption.
The difference is the breadth of accountability and experience. No single individual can accurately judge the safety of a new drug or chemical. Private individuals can not stop businesses from dumping toxic chemicals where few would notice until it runs of into the public water supply. Free markets do nothing to stop exploiting a species until it goes extinct even if it is critical in some biological cycle. Even the most brilliant scientist does not know all fields. It is idiotic to act like free markets solve all problems and all regulation is bad.
I'm all for using theory to solve problems. You should try it when it comes to global warming rather than just using your no regulation reflex. What I'm against is simplistically using only one theory because yolu like it's simplistic elegance and ignore all competing theories and objectives. I'm sorry so many Republicans can't understand science in general and the science of equilibrium specifically.
