"A powerful government creates corruption. It doesn't fix it.
That's the real problem. The days of innocent well meaning people signing up to join the bureaucracy are over. Government is a profession people enter into when they are less skilled and want job security. It attracts the looters, loafers and n'er do wells.
Look around!
Look at your local mayor, city government, state government and federal government! What more evidence do you need to indict the entire corrupt system?
The GOP is just as bad as the DNC these days. They are cut of the same cloth and just mold themselves to fit the image desired by the constituency they wish to exploit.
Religious righters, globalists, big-business bashers, whatever - each loud group of fanatics has their bureaucratic exploiters that use them to climb their own hill of power and financial largesse.
Want an easy job where you literally do less work than almost anyone? Seek public office. Ride in on a rail of discontent and promises. Feed on the perks and learn to work your way around the lobbyists to get the max allowable donations, expenditures and unrecorded bennies. The public expense account is your friend!
The government IS a business. It hires and pays money to its employees. It churns out dismal products and it is the only business in the world that can FORCE you to buy its dismal products OR ELSE! It gets to make laws and force people to conform to the desires of the incompetent looters and loafers - people like Clinton, Pelosi, Frank, Waxman and all the rest of the how shall I put it as insensitively as possible...ah yes...the loser, freak show. Getting elected and staying in office is easy for the crooks of society.
Letting the endless parade of loser freaks suck blood out of one's life, freedom and pocketbook is not my idea of noble government and is so far from the founders vision of good governance as to be the difference between day and night.
If you can...you do. If you can't...you teach...or seek some other government job.
