I am glad you got out of that alive...
You know me, I reject the supernatural... But there have been moments- often in a crisis, other times when I suddenly understand the answer to a problem in a sudden rush where it feels like I temporarily hand over the wheel to something other than what I consider 'me'.
I assume its some subconscious part of myself that is always there... but it is a surreal out-of-body type experience- as if I am watching it all happen from outside.
I can see how having such a mechanism that kicks in in critical moments is a evolutionary benefit- what I DON'T understand is why it simply isn't ALWAYS switched on...
