Nothing in it contradicts my account, and allowing for differences in terminology and definition (the article divides conservatism into "old" and "new" at the end of WWII, right where I placed its formal "intellectual" birth), they're remarkably consistent. Other sources (e.g. one of the Amazon reviews) have commented on the ongoing minor dispute between the "conventional" view that the American Conservative Movement got its start after the War, crediting Buckley with first developing a consistent written formal ideology; against the minority view that it got its true start in the 1920s as a form of cultural conservatism. In other words, the discontent and alienation came first, and later Buckely et al codified it in writing.
You seem to be evading my request for your chronology of the American Conservative Movement, and that's puzzling, since I'd expect you to be conversant with the history of your own movement and willing to expound on it at length. Could it be you've never wondered where the Movment came from? Did you buy into the sly positioning of it as eternal and unchanging?
Dude, even Christianity had a beginning! Why are you wriggling so?
