Considering the world around us, you're probably right. Which is why America is set apart from most of the world. American conservatism is based on the founding principles of this country. Individual liberty, self discipline, responsibility, and state's rights. If today's lefist principles were a part of this country's founding, then why weren't the ideas of FDR and LBJ part of the original 6 pages (imagine anything coming out of DC nowadays only being 6 pages) of the US Constitution?
What do you think the Founding Fathers would've thought of a 1,900 page health bill? What do you think of a 1,900 page health bill? Do you really think this epic piece of fubar is going to streamline and reduce the cost of anything?

So being free isn't natural to most people?
