My usual response is a challenge as to where the limits should be, and the usual reply is either random babbling or silence.
It's obvious that most liberals feel the government is nowhere close to controlling as much of our society as it ought to. The Left is now bitterly angry with Obama because he simply didn't annihilate the private insurance industry and make it a total state monopoly right away, instead of easing into it over years. In Congress, the next step now is snapping the spine of the energy industries, and turning them into weak appendages of the State like some of our automobile and financial companies already are, and health insurance companies soon will be.
I have yet to put up an example of government interference with our economic choices and activities. no matter how outlandish, where liberals have said, "you're right. That's too much." Always, the push is for more economic centralization and control, never less.
Maybe the problem is you're lying to yourself.
