You propose dividing the nation up specifically by political ideology and are surprised by the idea that these "nations" would end up under single-party rule? Does it matter if the parties are called "Democrat" or "Republican?"
I can't figure out what is it about political discussions that makes otherwise intelligent people pull their brains out and shove them under the chair for the cat to chew on.
