Unless, of course, the moved post has been replied to, then it is a whole different matter.

A couple of months ago I asked that edits carry a notice about the edit, or movement of a post. ER has been (hell, y'all have) really good about doing that. But I agree, a simple move really doesn't need a placeholder.
