Republican government is as near to totalitarianism as we can get. They want to rule our morals and our bodies. From Ashcroft's drape over a naked statue in the Dept. of Justice to cutting off abortion completely to plenty of other ways. Puritan bullshit pseudo politicians who teach their kids a sense of entitlement to run roughshod over the rest of the world. From torture to restricted freedoms, Republicanism is the party of "I've got mine, fuck you, and you'll do what I say."
I believe I've mentioned on here more than once, I'd just as soon get rid of Islam in the most extreme ways possible. As for Christian Jihad... I suggest you look up some of the extreme Christian Right groups in the US. They just haven't taken to bombing things--yet.
