You still fail to understand basic economic principles. Those government workers spend their money, and thus create demand in the private sector. To put it very simply the multiplier will turn that money into more money.
Few people with jobs equals less consumer spending, which means less jobs in the private sector.
Yes ideally the private sector would not be losing jobs, but the economy was driven off a cliff and your complaint that it is an insult that more public sector jobs weren't lost at the same time is nuts.
