I suppose if everyone left the whole thing alone, the natives and the loggers would kill each other off and problem solved (I'm NOT serious).
I can't, of course, prevent anyone from using this for their own political ends. But it still leaves the natives in danger of being used "to death."
It's not just a moral dilemma for conservatives. It should be a dilemma for everyone. The more the forests are cut down, the less CO2 converted into O2. This is a very complex issue since we're learning more and more every day and other factors have to be accounted for. I do believe that this planet now has critical mass in population and can no longer sustain us. The (human, animal and plant) die-off will eventually gain momentum (not too far into the future) and leave us little choice but to leave the planet or die here. The way the Space Program is going, we may not have that choice, either.
