I have seen similarities between TB's far right conservatism and Nazi-ism, in the inability to compromise and the desire for total power. I have been unwilling to spend time researching and documenting, particularly knowing that the end result would be no change. It is not possible to change the mind of someone who refuses to see any side but his own. My strength and, therefore, also my weakness is that I can see the other person's POV and immerse myself in it until I understand their side of an issue. I have done that and find the political right frightening. My intuition tells me bad times are coming and I'm not speaking about economics although that may be bad, too. I may not be around to see it and for that I am grateful. Like Ashcroft covered the nakedness of a statue, the conservatives will put a political veil over the American people not unlike what the Muslims require their women to physically wear. It will be just as insidious as Nazi-ism. The end result will be a people stripped of their power to choose anything but what the "Right" tells them to choose.
The Roman Empire fell and so will we. We didn't last very long. The barbarians at the gates may be the final blow but the journey downward has been internal.
