This discussion, carried on by many people across the entire internet and media, has been like trying to convince a two-year-old that there's no candy left in the candy jar. You hold it upside down and shake it. You rattle it. You let the kid look inside, and put his hand in there to feel around. But there's got to be candy in there! It's a candy jar!
Let's just tell the Democrats to figure out how high we should raise taxes to make up the accumulated $9.5 trillion deficits in Obama's current budget proposals. When they have a hard number that clicks with the CBO, they can get back to us. And then they can run for office on that proposal.
