Re: E'telekeli

I just read Frank's & re-read E'telekeli's post and see he won't be coming back either. I thought it was just Mary Anne.

That is a real loss. When I was banned awhile back during a small little (one-sided in my opinion) flame-war between Keith Cowing and myself, he showed support for me - ironically he and I are on opposite political spectrums yet he has integrity and is not just ( as we so often label folks with beliefs such as 'liberalism' or 'democrat' etc.) a liberal or somesuch but E'telekeli is a person with a broad worldview.

'isms' need not be applied to him - he transcends them. I think Mary Anne did as well.

In a first thought, it is easy to believe folks who are on the other side of the aisle really do not believe in their political philosophy - that somehow they know conservatism is really right in their heart. ;-) but cling to it for some unexplained or sinister reason.

With these two - you knew that was definitely not the case.

I guess that goes to show you how we all like to compare people to ourselves. That, I think is why we can't fathom the terrorist mindset - because it is something we could never do.

I think we should re-evaluate how we got here...Frank may be right - passions are high and many folks are depressed.

I can't be depressed. My own worldview wont let me stay that way for longer than it takes for me to catch the first self-pitying thought - and yes...depression is a form of selfpity... even if for others. You will notice that folks who are busy and full of action - have no time for depression.

Let me state it unequivocally - the WTC terrorist action is equally bad and good.

The lives lost will be matched by future lives saved. The hatred of the act is smothered by hope, kindness and sharing.

The fear will be overwhelmed by courage and bravery.

The weakness - shall turn into a strength. And the 'evil' WTC attack will have set into motion countless 'goods'.

So while it may seem wholly inappropriate to rejoice the WTC attack - one should not be unduly depressed either. Balance is the key...balance is the watchword.

May we all live with this balance,
