Your wife may know of this. I spent a month there during the late 1950s. Was aboard a freighter loading chromium ore from the island. It was called "prisoners' island" because it was a penal colony. Each man wore a red,yellow,green,etc shirt. We were assigned a driver. I asked him why he wore a yellow shirt. He said "It's because I'm a murderer. I cut up my wife into pieces and put them in my refrigerator". I was 10 years old at the time..
