it's been my experience that comparisons with Nazis are almost never meant literally, and they're rarely about ideology.
Instead, they're almost always intended to point out uncivilized behavior, and tactics reminiscent of those used by the Nazis. References to Nazis are a shorthand vocabulary for categories of uncivilized, and especially violent behavior.
Do you understand the use of analogies? Do you understand why I consider comparing you to a Brown Shirt to be perfectly valid:
...my trench knife has already been drawn. That reply is actually mild compared to what I first wrote, and I meant every word, especially the reference to bloody. If someone called the that to my face, there would be blood flowing in short order. To me, that's a mortal insult, both inexcusable and unforgivable. No apology will be accepted and no quarter granted.
For those who aren't familiar with a trench knife, here's a picture of one. It's a wicked weapon combining a double-edged blade, brass knuckles, and a "skull crusher" pommel.
If you ever again threaten violence to a poster here, I will ban you permanently. There will be no appeal to Justin. I have the ultimate responsibility to keep the peace here, and I will not allow you to behave like a Brown Shirt on my premises.
Is that perfectly clear?
