You BAD person...you!

I am one of those small minded folks who crucifies today's universities. I wont apologize for it either. Education should be free and not dictated or managed by a board which steers education and those educated into certain belief systems. This applies to both sides of the political spectrum.

Those who believe it is not happening obviously don't know too many teachers. I do. Some are family and I still watch them indoctrinate the young and can twist current events to serve their own belief system. Sure it's not illlegal..and everyone does it consciously or unconsciously to varying degrees - but it is not in the best interests of the US (or in my opinion the world)

In the computer age - teachers are more and more obsolete. A course can be conducted without sanctimonious lectures and students wont parrot the professors opinions for brownnose points.

I hope the President will move to replace the obsolete DOE with a Federal accredited online education program - so that any child or adult with access to a computer can download GOOD courses - read books - take tests and be graded with little or no human interference. (k-post doctorate)

There will be folks who say this is sanitized and detached - or that the content will churn out robots. I heartily disagree. A comprehensive set of options including regional and ethnic backgrounds can be integrated to tailor each grade level to their own innate interests.

Classrooms are obsolete - education can occur anywhere. Schools endanger kids and expose them to sickness, gangs, and possible gun violence. Sure the kids need interaction with other kids - but it need not be for 6 hours a day in some run down, asbestos filled toxic-rama.

The teacher's unions hate me. So be it. The children are too important to leave in the teacher union's care.

Some parents hate me too - as this requires a hands-on approach to raising their kids.

I started the university bashing thread earlier than Tom's post. Tom chimed in....blame me.

Burn me....burn ME!

Like Joan of Arc, I shall not recant my blasphemous views....let the clerics and religious scholars count up my many offenses to god..and the teacher's unions.
