Even Publius and I disagree on the death penalty.
Condemning innocents to the death penalty is harder now with the DNA back-up.
I think violent criminals should meet violent deaths (electric chair), especially if it was premeditated.
Some people think poisonous snakes and large carnivorous animals, etc;, should be destroyed if they've harmed and killed enough humans. A law of nature.
Keeping them penned up with three square meals a day, clean sheets and fresh air is not exactly my idea of "retribution".
Look at Ted Bundy.....he managed to get out and kill again.
Even low grade, non-murderous criminals take care of business in prisons.
Look at the ghoul, Jeffrey Dahmer.....didn't they get him with a broomstick?

Anyway, that's a tough subject.
