make no mistake about it but that alone is not sufficient to stike down the DP.
The point is, there is no upside to the DP. What does it accomplish? It is not a deterent and it is not the ultimate punishment. Would I want to kill a person that took the life of one of mine? Of course but I am not the state. If we want to continue this barbarism we should be honest with ourselves and turn the execution over to the victim families as do the muslim extremists.
If it is in any way acceptable, why do we care how it is done? For those that agonize over a method that is not cruel and unusual, I submit that for anyone that truly believes that death is the ultimate punishment, the only method that would not be cruel and unusual is to tell them they will be allowed to live and then off them in their sleep.
Put them away FOREVER. I would also be receptive to using capital offense offenders as human guinea pigs in certain situations. If we can profit by experimenting with and studying serial killers, pedophiles, post partum killers and other psychos, we should do it.
