Is that all premeditated violent criminals (I don't think you meant that -- though I could think of a few on the highway with road-rage issues who could be quietly taken out), or only those violent criminals who commit a premeditated murder?

As it stands, only those proved guilty in a court of law of "premeditated" murder are facing possible death sentences of any kind. Other murders, or killings, are stepped down to charges of murder2 or manslaughter. No death sentence attached.

Some people think poisonous snakes and large carnivorous animals, etc;, should be destroyed if they've harmed and killed enough humans. A law of nature.
Keeping them penned up with three square meals a day, clean sheets and fresh air is not exactly my idea of "retribution".

That's right. Swat that mosquitto!!
