The uncertainty about the impending war is putting a real cap on economic activity.
Its obvious the longer we wait for the Iraq situation to get resolved, the more the uncertainty grows, and the more negative the economic impact.
But don't foget that golden economic rule: What goes down must eventually come back up! Well just kidding but...One day the uncertainty will pass and the world and the economy will be in much better shape. it might even snap back as any economic activity put off because of the uncertainty might be suddenly unleashed once the uncertainty passes. (Kind of like what happend after the Y2K fiasco passed).
Speaking as the right-wing extreemist that on many occasions, I have been accussed of being, I just hope the economic rebound happens by the end of 2003.Of course even if it doesn't, the Democrats will still say that this is the "Worse economy in [what are we up to now?] 70 years..."
With that said, I'm actually amazed by the resiliency that the economy is showing in light of the poor stock market, terrorist threats, gloom and doom preached by the left, and of course the impending war...Unemployment is low by historical standards. Houses are being built, a few fools are putting all there pennies in gold, but it really is the exception, not the rule. In short, the sky is not falling.
