<Most (but certainly not all!) really dumb and/or uneducated people I have met, its true, are conservatives- but not all conservatives are dumb (IMHO). You, for example, I could not disagree with more on many issues. HOWEVER, I don't doubt your intelligence for a moment.
I grew up in Oklahoma- Chok full of people who could not read, drove a truck, and talked about "a-killin' dem dar GOD-damn lib'rals"... People who justified their political views by contrasting themselves against the other side - who were, in their word "A buncha damn Faggots". So I know a lot about ignorant conservatives.
Bush is, really, not a bright man. We all know this. He is not stupid because he is a Republican, he is stupid because he behaves like a stupid person.
I'll just bet you knew a lot of Oklahomans who used phrases like "dem dar." How about "Whoo doggies!" while we're at it?
I rest my case. This is particularly amusing in light of the many posts I get taking me to task for denouncing liberals in general while supposedly not including those who post on this board.
Like any other blind spot, this one gives conservatives a big advantage if they know how to use it. Bush in particular has gotten a lot of mileage out of the complete incapacity of his opposition to believe that he has any brains at all.
