Convention on discrimination of women

Apparently, the US hasn't yet ratified the Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discimination against Women.
Democrats are urging the President to do this, otherwise the US will be left in the company of Afghanistan, Iran, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Qatar and the UAE. Who said "Islam is love"?
