Yes, the wrong side of history

Back in the 1930s, there was a group of Nazi supporters in the US called the Bund. There was another group called "America First" that was opposed to the US getting into the war. Both groups effectively played into the Nazis hands. Given what we know about the Nazis, both groups were on the wrong side of history. They worked against America's interests and effectively gave support to Hitler.

While many of the peace protestors no doubt mean well, they are effectively giving support to Saddam. Those big peace protests back in February gave him encouragement that America would be forced to back down. Any hope of Saddam leaving Iraq for exile were dashed at that moment, thus ending any chance for a peaceful solution to the problem.

There is a term that describes what happened perfectly. The term is "unitended consequences." Sometimes, good intentions can do more harm than good, like a person who doesn't know first aid can actually kill the person he's trying to help. He didn't mean to harm anyone, but acting without knowledge can often have terrible consequences.
