Larry, although I don't support this "war", or the new role the US is trying to play world wide (I have my fears and trepidations), I certainly support the troops.
And I worry about them, but I know they are determined to try and make this a safer world.
I also question if that could ever be possible, and if going through a country of millions to rout out a few hundred is worth it.
Not to mention that it's a foreign culture and one of the centers for the entire Middle East.
As bad as Sadam is, it was the Saudis who engineered 9/11 and their radical muslims. There are probably thousands of them living in nigh well 60 countries.
We can't war on all of them.
Maybe we'll try, but Americans will get tired of the killing, and if the draft is kick-started; you will see America full of piss and vinegar again.
As for what the outcome in Iraq will be as in....success.
That will be measured by loss of life, loss of finances in American dollars, co-operation of the remaining Iraqi people and re-construction.
History will be the author of that.
