Or, we are suspended precisely at the intersection of past and future; not because we are special, but because there is no alternative.
It's not just Zen existentialist navel gazing, meaning is reserved solely for sentient beings. There is an invariant external reality, true, it is independent of our perception of it, but what it means is entirely subjective.
Once you understand that, you've got it dicked. And if you don't understand it, you will spend your life chasing your tail and wondering why the universe refuses to coincide with your expectations.
