The original "Connections" is now available on DVD, and "Ascent of Man" will be coming soon. I can't recommend these series--and the associated books--highly enough.
They can be ordered here, but the prices reflect the target market of libraries and educators, and are horribly high. This, of course, sucks. Why should they have to pay more? Okay, maybe you could make a case that a DVD sold to a library is many possible sales lost, but that's pretty lame. Booksellers could make the same excuse, and as far as I know, don't charge libraries and teachers a premium.
Still, you can bet I'll be grabbing these up as soon as I can afford them. Maybe there will be other sources that will be cheaper later on.
