Suppose I was lost in the wilderness. How would I manufacture a modern pair of boots for example using nothing but what I can scrape together with my bare hands?

Components: nylon laces, rubber tread, foam insole, leather casement, steel toe, glue & cotton thread

Precisely the wrong question. Start by asking the wrong question and useful answers are hopeless, i.e. it is obvious to thinking people that in the wilderness if you need foot coverings you do not attempt to build such the "modern" way.
