The fatal flaw in society is a lack of literature on how to do things. Suppose I was lost in the wilderness. How would I manufacture a modern pair of boots for example using nothing but what I can scrape together with my bare hands?
Product: Modern Work Boots
Components: nylon laces, rubber tread, foam insole, leather casement, steel toe, glue & cotton thread
Now I ask you what it take to make just one component of a modern pair of work boots, and the whole thing just snowballs !!!
Take the rubber tread: it is probably injection molded. An injection molding machine is a state-of-the-art multi-ton piece of heavy machinery, with hundreds of its own components. The materials it uses are refined petroleum products. An oil refinery is probably the biggest chunk of machinery you will ever see!!! Except the oil rig maybe!!! Or the oil tanker!!!
The point is our information technology is not necessarily will organized. So what are we going to do?
